The Bank of Nova Scotia---widely known as Scotiabank---is a major Canadian-based international bank and the 2nd oldest Canadian bank. 1982 marks the 150th anniversary of Scotiabank. Written to commemorate this event, The Scotiabank Story examines the history of the Bank as part of the larger history of Nova Scotia, the Maritimes, Canada, and, ultimately, the world financial community.
